Dirtbag Essentials: Searching out the best gear for your dirtbag adventures.
Go Rumpl blankets are new to the scene and it’s looking like they will be here for the long haul. Taking the original concept of sleeping bags and adding versatility, Go Rumpl has designed blankets ranging in size from a baby throw (30″ X 40″) to king-sized (102″ X 84″).
Their website states it simply: “In addition to being light and durable, 20D Ripstop Nylon with DWR is water, stain, and odor resistant. Because we use synthetic insulation instead of natural down, Rumpls can go in conventional washing machines. Designed to provide optimal warmth in any environment and shed debris you dont want to track into your home. A Rumpl packs down to fit in the included stuff sack for easy storage or to take with you on the go. Our stitch lines are inspired by the beautiful patterns found in nature.
Patrick Sweeney discovered Rumpl blankets at Outdoor Retailer this year and here is what he loves most about his:
It is super warm but not to warm. It is much easier regulate the temperature with than a sleeping bag. I love having the freedom to move around plus its great to share with a friend or loved one on a chilly night. It is one of my very favorite possessions. It lets me channel my inner Linus.
After seeing Patrick’s Rumpl blanket, I (Crista Scott) decided to try it out for myself.
It was everything I hoped and dreamed that a blanket made out of the same material as sleeping bags would be. It is lightweight, incredibly warm and I love that I can throw it in the wash if it gets too dirty. I’d say this is the ultimate dirtbag blanket — I am planning on taking it on lots of adventures!
