We are super pumped to be teaming up with BackCountry.com to show you guys the best gear for outdoor adventures, trail running, and dirtbagging. This week we reviewed the Nemo Nocturne 15 sleeping bag — lightweight, durable, and incredibly warm!Last weekend I took my lightweight Nemo Nocturne 15 sleeping back out for a backpacking trip in Kings Canyon. This backpacking sleeping bag is 700 down fill, utilizes a spoon shape rather than mummy bag (which makes it way easier for moving around), and has an awesome space for your head to tuck in. At under two pounds, this bag is seriously impressive and kept me warm despite the extremely cold temperatures! Not to mention – it’s also water repellant which is very important when you’re taking gear backpacking, when weather can be unpredictable.
Sleeping Bag Stats:
Temperature Rating: 15 degrees
Fill Type: 750 Fill Power Downtek Down
Fill Weight: 1 lb 2.5 obz
Shape: Spoon (great for side-sleepers!)
Shell Fabric: 20D Nylon Ripstop w/DWR
Overall rating: 5 out of 5. This baby is made to last for the long haul — and will keep you warm on the coldest of nights at the trailhead or before your next big racing adventure. Although the price is steep (reaching in at $375), we think that this is one of those times when investing a little extra for something that will last you for years is well worth it.
